Tallboy Shotgun - Band Bios

Tallboy Shotgun (formerly called "Fusion") is a thrash heavy metal band based out of Vancouver Washington. Since the band's formation in the summer of 1997, the original drummer has been replaced, and many lead singers have come and gone. Adam Smith (guitarist) and Wade Nelson (bassist) were the two originators of the band and are still in the lineup. After the original drummer moved to the east coast in the summer of 1998, Austin Smith (Adam's Brother) took up the drums and joined the band. No singer would arrive until 1999. After dealing with fakes and flakes for 3 years, Jon Kindsvogel took the spot in the summer of 2002, and has been committed ever since. The musical focus and drive of the band is to have high energy live shows with fast, heavy and aggressive music with a groove. Musical influences consist of Pantera, Metallica, Testament, Slayer, Killswitch Engage, Down, Chaimera, Mudvayne, Slipknot, Tool, etc. From childhood friends to fellow band mates, the members of Tallboy Shotgun are all about kicking ass and having a great time.

ADAM - A true metal guitar player with respect for its roots. While playing both rhythm and lead guitar, the riffs are aggressive and catchy, and the lead runs are fast and full of chops. A self taught musician who's philosophy is that there is no match for practice and dedication.

WADE - Started playing bass with Adam to write heavy music in 1997. For the most part is self taught with little instruction from formal teachers. Joined jazz band senior year of high school to expand on playing, allowing for 2 hours of chop building before class.

AUSTIN - Sat down at a drum set in the summer of 1998. Joined the band after 2 weeks and has been with it ever since. Marched tenors in the marching band for the last two years of high-school and was part of the jazz and pep band. More formal instruction has influenced many different styles of music to be put together with the heaviness of Tallboy Shotgun.

JON - At first a guitar player in a band called "Burner" which lasted through high-school, Jon became friends with Adam, Wade, and Austin by playing shows with "Fusion". When out of high-school, Jon wanted a spot in the band, and the band needed a singer. After enough practices, he was ready for the job and filled the empty slot.
